Health Assessments

If you are planning a family, it is a good time for both of you to have a health assessment. This will make sure you are in good health for your future pregnancy.

If you are already a parent, an assessment is also helpful because many diseases or disorders can creep up without us even noticing until they are well advanced and damage may already have occurred. However, if detected early on, conditions like diabetes or heart disease can have significantly improved outcomes. That is why regular health assessments offer a simple way to detect early symptoms and, in many cases, prevent further deterioration.

Healthy Choices offers a comprehensive health assessment performed by a registered nurse, experienced in assessing health within general practice and the private sector. It includes a questionnaire on past medical history, current health problems and lifestyle practices. This is followed by a blood pressure reading, a urine test, height and weight measurements and body mass index scoring.

Each client is sent a booklet a few days later with a summary of the assessment, including recommendations on lifestyle which may improve health and prevent disease.

The assessment takes approximately one hour. You can choose to have your assessment at Healthy Choices in Bedford or in your own home.

Fund Raising

The extensive range of products offered by Healthy Choices provides a variety of ways to help you raise funds for your favourite charity or cause.

Our manufacturer, Neways International (UK) has produced a superb colour catalogue detailing the products. The catalogue can be left in a staff room or coffee room at your place of work, or passed around friends, family or members of an organisation or club to which you belong.

Healthy Choices also offers home presentations to a small number of people, or talks to larger groups, as mentioned in Health Talks. These presentations include a demonstration of some of the toxin-free products in the toiletries range.

Another novel way to raise funds for your organisation or club is to set up a free JamPies website.
